ولد في محافظة النجف الاشرف .صحفي وكاتب قصة انخرط في السلك الصحفي منذ بدايات شبابه.تخصص في تحرير الأخبار وعد خبيرا في الخبر الصحفي .كان واحدا من ثلاثة أسسوا وكالة الأنباء العراقية عام ١٩٥٩ .عمل في صف الشعب - الجمهورية - البلاد - الأسبوع - ومحررا وسكرتيرا في مجلة ألف باء منذ ١٩٧٧ ولعشرين عاما.
